We collected over 650 signatures in support of our Manifesto
The General Election in July 2024 provided us with the opportunity to reflect on our activities and learning over the previous couple of years and to decide what it was exactly that we wanted for women in Milton Keynes; what was it that we could do to facilitate debate and discussion not only with prospective MPs but also residents of the city?
We decided on our Manifesto – a call for Milton Keynes to be a Safer, Healthier and Fairer place for women (see our flyer below). A report on our work leading up to the Election as we sought support for the Manifesto, and the Evidence Paper which underpins our arguments, can be found on our publications page.
Following the election, we have met with our MPs and leaders of the political parties on MK City Council as well as feeding back to the residents in neighbourhoods which we visited in June and July 2024.
We continue to shape our research, lobbying and discussions with policy-makers, including MPs and local councillors, around these three clarion calls. An update on our work can be found at the end of every monthly blog.
